City Council Meeting Video and Updates for April 21, 2020

At yesterday's council meeting, approvals were given for a Five-Year Recreation Master Plan, costs for the 12 Mile Resurfacing, and approving a contractor to start city wide road repairs using the 2018 infrastructure millage funds.

A contract was awarded to Carlisle/Wortman to conduct the five year update to our Recreation Master Plan. This is the same firm that is helping with the city's Master Plan. Discussion centered around how to best reach the public in the age of COVID. Activities will be conducted online or by mail, perhaps with an in-person meeting in October or November if the situation allows.

Funding was approved to start resurfacing of 12 Mile Road. The anticipated start date is early June. Two way traffic, as well as pedestrian access, will be maintained for most of the project. There will be a period of time where 12 Mile is closed between Greenfield and Ellwood. The exact time is not known yet, but updates will be made once plans are finalized.

A two year-long contract for road repairs throughout the city was approved. The money comes from the 2018 Infrastructure Millage. Work may start as early as mid-May, depending on how the Coronavirus Disease progresses. You can see a detailed map of proposed repair locations by clicking the image below.
