On Tuesday night City Council held its first on-line meeting ever. Items included the Coronavirus emergency, DDA Director, DPW purchases, and Yad Ezra food distribution.
Several new ordinances were adopted: requiring free newspapers and similar materials to be delivered at the door, minimum attendance and training requirements for city boards, and improving our public notification methods. While not emergencies, these had passed the first reading without controversy so were scheduled on the consent agenda.
There were several housekeeping items related to the current Coronavirus COVID-19 emergency, including Council confirming Mayor Terbrack's emergency declaration.
Jennifer Finney was confirmed as Executive Director for the DDA.
Two purchases were approved for public works, and Yad Ezra was permitted to conduct a Passover food distribution after careful review of their safety procedures.
