I was interviewed by Fox 2 after another fire that seems to have been caused by fireworks.
State law requires that we allow fireworks on certain days. Localities are nearly powerless to do anything to protect our residents.
I believe this should be a local decision. It may be perfectly safe for fireworks in a sparsely populated township, while extremely dangerous in a densely packed neighborhood.
The most important thing you can do to help fix this problem is contact your state representatives and let them know how you feel.
Phone calls and letters carry more weight, but email is fine.
