Monday's meeting discussed a tax abatement for apartments at the former La Salette school and approved new union contracts.

The bulk of the meeting was spent discussing a tax abatement for the apartments to be built at the former La Salette school and parking lot.
In November 2020 council approved a Brownfield Plan for the La Salette school building. This helped the developer to finance removing asbestos and perform other remediation tasks to protect the building.
The developer came before council to ask for a tax abatement for apartments in the former school building as well as for 24 new rental units to be built in the parking lot. Council postponed a decision, asking for more information the help verify the information in the tax abatement.
